"Con Permiso" Film Premiere Benefiting Presencia

The invitation is to see the vulnerable children in our community as whole people who deserve our support. By telling the story of one child and the odds she faces, we hope that people who watch it will embrace her and the community she represents.

"Con Permiso" follows a young girl who needs a permission slip signed for a field trip, but can't find her mother, an immigrant who cleans the houses of wealthy neighbors. This child has to dodge the perils, expectations, and restraints of the adult world to get permission to join a class activity.

We believe that this story is an important one, and we've worked with friends, neighbors, and professional filmmakers to make sure we tell it well.

Join us for the Film Premiere of "Con Permiso", our first narrative film by Presencia in partnership with Whistling Blue and Elva Mae!

Guests will be invited to join us in the good work of Presencia, a nonprofit in Atlanta creating healthy community around the children of immigrants though after school programing, leadership development and economic empowerment.

We will also give a shout out to Sponsors, Benefit Hosts, and Board members.

After the showing we will enjoy a delicious meal made by Betos Tacos, an immigrant owned local business, and BYOB in the lobby to share, connect and celebrate in community!

This event is red carpet attire 💃 We are dressing up to honor and celebrate the children who participated in our film and the immigrant community they represent!

There is FREE parking in the Marta parking deck right behind the theater. You don’t need a ticket or validation. Just simply park there. The theater has special permission for this. You just walk out of the parking deck and around to the front of the theater.

Please make sure you give yourself plenty of time for the commute and parking.

We will stay on schedule so we don’t want you to miss any part of it!

Dinner will be towards the end so if you usually eat dinner sooner, make sure to grab a snack before you come. But make sure you’re hungry by 8:30 because the food is going to be so good.

Each guest will get two tacos (you pick: carne asada, chicken asado or vegetarian), rice and beans with chips and salsa. All made fresh by the immigrant owned Betos tacos. 🌮

Dinner will be super informal and shared in the lobby around standing tables and a couple lounge areas.

During dinner and after the show will be your opportunity to meet and take pictures with the stars on the red carpet.

This is a BYOB event if you would like to bring something for yourself or to share. We will also have some wine to share, and there will be water and soda served with the meal.

Each guest will get a single stemmed rose 🌹 at check in that you can give to the actors and actresses after the film to show your adoration and congratulations for their hard work.
